We split the long drive to Louisiana up by stopping one night in Katy, TX, at a Boondockers Welcome place. Karen and John were awesome hosts, making us feel welcome (at least, after I climbed over their gate to let them know we had arrived — there was some communication snafu where we did not get a gate code) and inviting us to enjoy the animals and evening outside. The goats were pretty entertaining while wandering around everywhere, including under our RV! I was a little nervous about their horns hitting and tearing the insulation underneath, but they were short enough that it did not cause a problem. The Brady’s also had some friends and neighbors over, so we all sat around in their yard swapping stories until it started getting dark. They even gave us some farm fresh eggs, too!
