We didn’t do much at Ho-Hum RV Park or in Carrabelle, since we spent Thanksgiving with friends in Tallahassee, about an hour away. The RV park was a nice enough — it was close to the water, but the traffic noise was pretty loud in the mornings.

We spent a few hours in Tallahassee before going to the Fergusson’s house. We drove around Florida State University some and thought it was interesting that they had a circus tent. Come to find out, they actually teach circus classes there — who knew?!? We stopped by Cascades Park and walked around a bit. The Tallahassee Meridian happened to go through the park, so they had a nice survey monument there. We also quickly walked through the Historic Capital Museum before going grocery shopping then heading to the Fergusson’s house.

Jill was a college roommate and a bridesmaid in my wedding (plus she did my hair and makeup and sang in my wedding too!). We’ve only seen each other a few times since college, but she’s one of those friends that make it easy to pick up where we left off, no matter how much time has passed. When I mentioned the dates that we’d be near enough to come visit, she invited us to spend the night, AND do laundry, AND spend Thanksgiving with them! We took her up on all her hospitality, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. They have a beautiful house on 10 acres of land in a very peaceful area outside of Tallahassee. It was also nice getting to know her husband, John, and her three adult kids as well.
Before we left, Jill had the idea to try and recreate an old pic of us together. We found the one of me sitting in her lap at her wedding and thought that one would be fun to do! She even pulled her wedding dress and veil out of storage for it. I was impressed that she was able to still fit into her wedding dress, but since she was having trouble breathing in it, she just kept the veil on for the photo, haha. (Jill, be sure to hang onto that veil so we can recreate the pic again in another 25 years!)

While checking all the tires’ pressure before leaving the campground, we noticed one of the truck tires that should have been 60 PSI was only at 46. <sigh> We found a nail in it and, thankfully, had recently bought a tire repair kit while in LA. While Randy was plugging it, a guy offered to help, since he grew up working at his family’s Texaco station and had plugged a lot of tires. We were almost done, but said sure, since it was the first one we’d ever done. He finished it up, then Randy aired the tire back up and we were good to go!
