I guess we didn’t take any pictures while staying at Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOA Journey. Oh well, it was a typical looking KOA. We stayed here three nights and spent the first full day looking at homes with Jennifer Grayson. The image I used as the featured image is the Athens house that was our top choice in this area.
- 124 Jenkins Rd NE, Cleveland, TN 37312 – This was a stately looking home with tall columns, sitting on top of a hill. They had done some updating, but we would want to do a good bit more renovating. The lot was appealing, with rolling hills of both open space and some trees. This became our 2nd choice of the day.
345 Potter Place Rd NW, Charleston, TN 37310– The floor plan was just not very functional for us and we didn’t like how steep sections of the land was. Outside fire pit area was cute, but the pool was up a flight of stairs.- 6161 Lamontville Rd, Decatur, TN 37322 – We liked the main living area of this house. It didn’t have a split floor plan, which we prefer though. The basement is unfinished and has garage access. We would want to replace the exterior vinyl, which has holes in it, with Hardy Board. The owner also has an adjacent 19.79 acre lot they’re offering to sell to someone buying the house. This house is only .5 miles from a Hiwassee River public boat ramp. Even with the extra work this house would need, it was our top choice of the day.
170 Garland Ln, Spring City, TN 37381– There is too much traffic noise from HWY 27. It has a shared driveway that passes a Llama farm and has a steep hill. Nice house, though.
The next day, we drove around Cleveland a bit then up to Athens. We stopped at Pepo’s Burrito Bar for dinner, which was quick and tasty.
On the day we were supposed to leave, we went back to the Lamontville property to look at the extra piece of land and talk to a contractor about the cost of some of the work we’d need to do on it. Since we wouldn’t be back in time for checkout, we parked the RV in a Walmart parking lot while Jennifer drove us around.
We also drove back up to Athens to look at a house I found the night before.
- 301 County Road 712, Athens, TN 37303 – The house was larger than I was hoping for, but it had lots of top notch upgrades. Randy liked the lot better than Sherri, with surrounding farm land and trashy/abandoned homes on the one lane paved road getting to the house. They are also offering two adjoining 10 acre lots for an additional cost. We are keeping this house on our short list.
- Has unground pool with external storage building, sunroom and two electric awnings
- RV hookups
- Two 10 acre lots, tractor, hot tub, and 4-wheelers to sell for additional cost
