We only stayed at Fort Massac State Park one night, to break up the drive to St. Charles, MO. We didn’t actually explore the park at all, but after disconnecting the truck from the fifth wheel, we went out to search for Superman! It’s kind of funny how this small town adopted Superman just because they had the same town name, but it made for some cute pics. There was also a Superman museum, which we didn’t bother doing. But we went into the gift shop to look around. And Randy stopped by the Police Dept to pick up one of their badges, where they also proudly embrace Superman — cute!

Since fuel prices in Kentucky were a good bit cheaper than in Illinois and we were close to the border, we drove back into Paducah, KY to fill up. We decide to just drive around to see what we would see and stopped at their riverfront to walk around. It was a pleasant surprise to find a huge flood wall that had about 20 different murals painted on them showing the history of the town. I thought it was an awesome idea — besides the history, the artistry of the murals was impressive! We also walked along the river and the small downtown area across the street. Nice area — well done, Paducah!
