Instead of going through Kansas after leaving Jackson Lake State Park as planned, we went back to Monument and stayed at the CO Heights RV Resort while dealing with the hail damaged roof repair stuff. The RV shop kept stringing me along, trying to find a time when a bay would be open so they could pull the rubber membrane back without having to worry about exposure to weather; they kept saying they would get back to me the next day to let me know when to tell Progressive it would be ready to look at again. But after 4 days of waiting, I scheduled Progressive for their first available day, which was another 4 days out, and told the shop to have the RV ready by then. I also just totally cancelled the reservations I had for Kansas state parks, since chances of having time to stop at them became too slim.

After a week of paying over $60 / night at the campground, we decided to go ahead and take the RV back to the shop since the Schott’s said they didn’t mind us moving back in with them. (They’re such amazing friends!)
During the extra time we were in Monument, Randy & I were able to assemble a few kitchen cabinets for the Schott’s new building; pack a U-Box with the stuff Marissa wanted for her new apartment, for U-Haul to ship to her in MO; go to a concert in the park; attend a BBQ with a bunch of friends; and Randy was able to go out on patrol a couple of extra times. So, we definitely made the best of the challenging situation!
