We left Branson, MO around around 7pm and stopped overnight near St. Louis, MO in a Cracker Barrel parking lot. We woke up early the next morning to finish the trip and arrive at Indian Point RV Roofing in Athens, IL around 8am. We dropped the RV off to get the Flex Armor coating put on it and to hopefully prevent any further roof drama!
Since Marissa said we could crash at her apartment for a few days in St. Charles, we drove a couple of hours back the way we had just come. <sigh> Marissa was sweet to sleep on the couch and let us have her bed. Hopefully we made it worth her while by taking her shopping, helping her hang a shelf and feeding her a few meals. 🙂
The RV Roof guy recommended Dewey’s Pizza, so we went out to eat there one night. I agree it was really good, but the best part was how good of service they provide. All of the wait staff serviced all the tables, as needed. When a different guy came by and asked Randy if he wanted his Dr. Pepper refilled, Marissa wondered out loud how he knew which drink it was. So, we asked when he returned and he let us in on the secret code of the different colored straws. Both Dr. Pepper and Root Beer used the same clear straw, but he said about 80% of clear straws are Dr. Pepper, so his chances were good, ha.
After joining Marissa for her church service, we went back to her place to pack up then drove back to Athens. The roof looked great! NO MORE LAP SEALANT MAINTENANCE!!! According to claims, we should not have any maintenance with this roof and chances of any water damage happening are super slim now. It’ll be a pain if we ever need to replace a skylight or solar panel, but it’s worth it to not have to deal with the rubber membrane issues. At least, I’m optimistic about it — time will tell for sure.
