Randy’s brother, Jeff, invited us to his house in VA for Thanksgiving. We initially declined, thinking we’d be traveling in the RV down to Louisiana; but once we knew we’d be at the house in TN, we were happy to accept the invitation! Marissa had to start her job as a Christmas Caroler on St. Charles historical Main Street the day after Thanksgiving, so she decided to spend Thanksgiving with friends in MO instead. And of course, Jeremy is still in Ireland and is planning to come back to the states for Christmas, so he couldn’t come.
So, it was just Randy & me on the road again. We drove the truck this time, so that we could rent a U-haul trailer and bring back the stuff Randy kept from his parent’s estate. It felt a bit strange to be back in the truck, since we hadn’t used it much lately, but the trip went well. We stayed four nights and enjoyed time visiting with family. Tara outdid herself with the meals! The brothers also had fun going to a VA Tech football game together. (I opted to stay at the hotel for some quiet alone time, which was nice!) And with the uneventful trip back to TN hauling the trailer, I’d say it was indeed a “Happy Thanksgiving”!
