We did the Sky Road Upper Loop to get some great views of the area. Beautiful!

Then we drove to the Kylemore Abbey, which is still being used as an Abbey today. We just walked around on our own, doing the self-guided tour, but eavesdropped on one of the guided tours occasionally. There was a lot of history on the Henry’s, who built the estate in the late 1800s. We also enjoyed walking around the large outdoor garden area, which was kept up extremely well.

On our way to Galway, we stopped at the Aughnanure Castle to take a quick peak. There ended up being a guy who worked there who started talking to us about the tower’s history and restoration, so we stayed longer than expected listening to him. Very interesting stuff (but I’m not going to take the time to type it out — you should go visit for yourself!!)

We stopped at Galway to see it’s most popular spots. The Spanish Arch and The Latin Quarter. None of us were very hungry to we at Bubble Waffles with Ice Cream for dinner. Yum!

It was drizzling off and on, so we didn’t hang out in Galway very long, but drove another 30 minutes to the Kinvara Guesthouse. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious our room was, along with a nice bathroom. (I’m not sure what they have against full shower doors, though — the water splashed out around the half door pretty easily.) The dining area was plenty large, too, so we didn’t have to schedule a time to eat breakfast. Kinvara Guesthouse for the win!
