The Ring of Kerry is another popular loop to drive. Here’s the list of places we stopped along that route…

Kerry Cliffs

Derrynane House

Scenic Views. We pulled off at a few places to try to capture how spectacular the views were (which of course is not nearly as good as being there, no matter how skilled Randy is at photography!)

Torc Waterfall

Ross Castle

Jeremy took a turn at driving a few times during the trip, to give Randy a break, but Randy did the majority of the driving. I thought it was funny to see the signs with cars going off a cliff, without a “NO” symbol on it. It looks like they’re telling you it’s a place where you can drive your car off. The videos show how skinny the roads were. It was nice when it was wide enough to have a middle line drawn down the center! Otherwise, there wasn’t enough room for two cars to pass and someone had to pull over. In the first video, we had see the oncoming car through the trees before Randy stopped. But then you can see what happens when you don’t see the car coming — the other car had to back up for us. We’re very spoiled with our wide roads in the US!

From Ross Castle, we drove 30 minutes to Herbert House. Some of the layouts of our rooms have been interesting; like this one that had a Jeremy’s twin tucked away. This house was only about a 10-15 minute walk to a street in Killarney with shops and restaurants, so we walked to dinner at Milano instead of trying to find parking. They had really good pizza there!
