While it would’ve been nice to have had warmer weather while we were at the Camping on the Gulf campground in Miramar Beach, it was still an amazing place to spend four nights! And I’d gladly take the 50-60 degree weather over the subfreezing weather Colorado was having any day. Our site was backed up onto the beach, so we could just walk barefoot out of the RV onto the fine, white sand. So cool!
The first day we were there had the best weather of our stay, in the low 70s. So we took our chairs out closer to the water, ate a picnic lunch and hung out for a couple of hours. We were excited to see a few dolphins swimming past, too!

Notice how calm the water is while the dolphins are swimming? After the cold front moved in, with lots of wind and rain overnight, the waves got a bit crazy, as the second video shows. We thought the constant roaring sound we heard in the RV was wind, but later realized the waves were coming so fast that they made a constant crashing sound instead of having the normal lapse between crashes.
One night, we bundled up and sat on the picnic table behind our RV to enjoy a spectacular sunset.

If we ever find ourselves back in this area, we’ll definitely try to get another beach site here; especially if it’s warmer weather. The one downside, I’d say, is that it’s close to the Eglin Air Force base, so the low jets flying in and out of there are REALLY loud! But Randy says he’ll never get tired of watching and hearing them, so he didn’t mind the noise. We just had to pause the TV a few times to let them pass and they sometimes woke us up, but it wasn’t awful.
