We stopped for one night at Hometown RV Park in Jonesville, NC. Once we got settled, we drove another 30 minutes to Mt. Airy, to check out the Andy Griffith Museum and some of the sites where The Andy Griffith Show was filmed. We got a kick out of the old police car driving around town, which we’re guessing was giving a tour.

The museum also had an exhibit about a pair of Siamese Twins, Eng and Chang, which I found even more interesting than Andy Griffith. They stayed conjoined, married sisters, took turns living in each others’ house, and had around 10 kids each. They made custom dining chairs wide enough for the two of them and had extra wide stairs in their homes. It’s hard to imagine how they managed it all.

It got down close to freezing overnight, so we went ahead and blew out our tankless hot water heater, in hopes of keeping it from freezing and bursting again, like it did last winter. (For some reason, the instructions say to winterize it if the temperatures go below 39 degrees.) Then the next morning, we finished winterizing before finishing our trip to Waynesboro, VA.
