Our third and final one night stop while traveling across Kansas was at Hillsdale State Park. Unfortunately, our Garmin GPS had trouble finding this park. Randy noticed something was wrong when he saw a Dead End sign in a residential area. Luckily, there was a gravel turn-around spot near the end, probably created by the state park because too many big rigs are led down the wrong road by their GPS! I put in the address instead of the state park name and it got us closer, to a park office. We drove past that and eventually saw a state park sign where we turned, even though there wasn’t a campground sign. Thankfully there was someone at the park’s entrance building who was able to give us a map and assure us we were going in the right direction. We found our nice, shady spot a few miles further down the road.
After getting set up, we walked around a bit, then pulled out our chairs to enjoy the beautiful evening!
