We got to the Cathedral of Santa Maria about 30 minutes before it opened and the line was already huge. We decided to walk around to see some other sights in hopes the line would go down once the doors opened. By the time we made it back to the Cathedral the line was WAY longer, but it was moving. It took about 30 minutes to get inside, so it was still quicker than staying in the line before.

Next, we went to the Uffizi Gallery. We listened to an audio guide for a long time, but then started getting tired and hungry, so we quickly looked in rooms without reading or listening to info. There are a TON of statues, paintings and tapestries held here! Quite an impressive collection.

Here were some other sights we saw while walking around…

Everyone but Jeremy started getting pretty tired of walking around 6pm, and he had more on his list that he wanted to see, so we finally decided to split up. But since we had been walking slower and taking more breaks than he would have, we put him behind schedule; so the last place he wanted to see (that he walked about 30 minutes to get to) had closed about 10 minutes before he got there. I felt bad that we had messed up his plans, but he made it back in time to eat dinner with us at a little Italian restaurant down the street from our hotel at least.
Thanks for leading us around today, Jeremy!
