We decided to stop and spend a couple of nights near Rico, CO, boondocking next to the Dolores River at Ewing Gulch Dispersed Camping. It was a nice open field near the road, so it was easy to get in and out of. It got a little chilly at night, so we were finally able to enjoy a fire again. There were a couple of guys staying in a tent near us who decided to turn their music up super loud around 2am. I’m guessing they were high or drunk, so they weren’t making great decisions at the time. It lasted a couple of hours, then they finally quieted down. We thought about finding a different location for the second night, but it was nice enough here that we didn’t want to bother moving. Fortunately, the second night was quiet.

We drove back into the tiny town of Rico to check it out. We got a smoothie at a very quaint market / coffee shop called Fireweed and walked through their small museum. Then we drove around the area to capture some of the beautiful scenery.

Hi!! Loving the photos and the posts. So sorry about the noisy guys next door. Makes all those middle school kids we had in Buena Vista seem like nothing!

Love you!❤️

Thanks, Missy! Ha, yeah, I’ll take mostly well behaved middle school kids over noisy drunk guys any day! We’re probably just getting too spoiled, since most of the places we stay at are super quiet. Love & miss you, too!!
