Getting to Kentwood on October 12th for my nephew’s wedding on the 14th has been our goal since leaving Colorado. And we made finally made it! It was nice to be invited to the rehearsal dinner, even though we weren’t in the wedding, especially since the food was so yummy! Of course, the main event was the beautiful outdoor wedding with awesome food and fun at the reception. Jude & Kallie really did it up right! Plus we got to spend time with family who we had not seen in a while.

We slept in the RV the first few nights, but since we did not have a way to dump our black tank while parked at mom and dad’s, we were mostly using the bathroom in the house. Not the most convenient way to live, so once the other out-of-town family left, Randy and I moved into my old bedroom. My parents were awesome hosts — Mom cooked a bunch of meals for us and Dad helped us with some maintenance on the RV (thanks for all the help, Daddy, even if you did get me greasy!) While we were in one place long enough, we also finally got our tailgate fixed (a limb and our truck had an unfortunately meeting last month).

Randy made a short, impromptu trip back to Colorado for some Sheriff’s Office training. Congrats to him for qualifying on the first try of both shotgun and handgun!! The icing on top was getting to spend time with some close friends while he was there.

I also enjoyed catching up with my old friends at my old home church, both after Sunday services and at the church’s Fall Festival. It was funny to see the confused reactions of people who had not realized we be hanging around so long. But alas, just when they were getting used to seeing me around there again, it was time to leave.
