Jeremy met up with his online gaming friend, Kiara, for the day, while Randy and I explored Prague on our own. First, we walked to Havel Market. After eating so much bread and pasta in Italy for a week, I was happy to get some fruit to eat! We also picked up a couple of souvenirs and a streusel then headed back to the room to eat brunch.

We intended to meet up with a walking tour that our airport transfer service provided for free, but with an unclear meet-up point, along with the rain and all the people holding umbrellas, we did not find a person holding a red umbrella with the logo as described. By the time we called to ask for more details, and they got in touch with the guide, she had already left the area since no one had shown. Oh well. Instead, we followed along with another of Rick Steve’s audio walking guides, which didn’t take as long and was still enjoyable and informative. Below are pics from our walk, including Wenceslas Square, with a statue of “Good King Wenceslas”, and the Powder Tower. We ate lunch at Bohemia Restaurant then went back to the apartment to rest.

Jeremy and Kiara met us in the evening for the Prague Underground Tour. We walked down to the old street level that was buried when newer streets and buildings were built above them. Kind of freaky; especially the rooms that were used as dungeons and for torture. We walked above ground on the tour, too, and the guide pointed out the old well and a building where they had pulled off a new layer of plaster to show the old beneath it.
